Combat Troodon Gen III Interceptor Signature Natural Clear Aluminum, Apocalyptic is the largest of the automatic knives, representing the pinnacle of precision engineering and tactical efficiency in the realm of OTF (Out The Front) knives. Designed for a wide range of utility applications, it boasts a size 25% larger than the flagship Troodon. Meticulously crafted, it features a sophisticated and lightning-fast deployment mechanism for the razor-sharp, newly designed Interceptor blade. 100% made and assembled in the USA. The design is by Anthony Marfione, knifemaker and owner of Microtech Knives.

Combat Troodon OTF Line – Troodon means “tooth harmer” in Greek. Although this name was first given to a dinosaur similar to a raptor, it is equally suitable for the large OTF knife from Microtech, which was designed for all-purpose use and close combat. This automatic knife with above-average durability and D/A (Double Action) mode is a favorite OTF among law enforcement officers, the US armed forces, and emergency service personnel. Its robust design makes the Combat Troodon® suitable for intensive use, and the advantages of the Out The Front automatic mechanism also make it an excellent knife for everyday use.

Signature Series – an elite Microtech product line designed for buyers who are looking for more exclusive accents in relation to the beloved production models from the Core series (logo with claws on the knife). The production of knives from the Signature series often involves the use of the highest quality materials and finishes. The line also includes themed knives such as Bounty Hunter, Memento Mori and Molon Labe. A characteristic feature is the dagger logo on the handle and Anthony Marfione’s signature on the clip.

M390MK – thanks to the cooperation of Microtech and Böhler engineers, an exclusive version of M390 steel was created, made only for Microtech. The carbon content has been increased and subjected to more thorough control, improving the properties of M390 steel to ensure better edge retention, corrosion resistance and polishing. A martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced using powder metallurgy. Due to the alloy concept, it is characterized by extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it keeps its edge well, which means that the blade stays sharp for a very long time (minimal maintenance required). Another advantage is that it is resistant to “wire” formation during sharpening. Steel with a high chromium content of 19.0% (Cr) with an admixture of 1.95% carbon (C), 4.0% vanadium (V), hardened to 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter’s CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.

Blade – machine-ground, single-edged, Interceptor type, featuring characteristic spine serrations and a false edge for enhanced piercing performance and aggressive aesthetics, finished with Apocalyptic patination. The blade is brought out with a high Flat Grind for excellent cutting qualities. Thanks to this and the wide grain, the knife has excellent piercing properties while maintaining its strength. The strong mechanism of extending / retracting the blade with the help of the moled Thumb Slide, a stepped thumb slide, requires for safety the application of a specific force to overcome the resistance of the spring. The method of opening provides seamless opening for both right and left-handed people.

Handle – made with excellent precision in 3D technology on CNC milling machines from 6061-T6 Aluminum, brushed and polished. The surface texture of the Handle and the deep notches (jimping) on it make the knife non-slip in the hand during use. The slim profile and milled two-position (right/left) solid deep-carry clip allow the knife to be carried discreetly in the pocket, in tip-down (blade tip down) position. Equipped with a smooth rollerball, which allows the knife to slide easily into the pocket without damaging the pocket edges. The clip bears Anthony Marfione’s signature and the date of manufacture. The Handle is finished with a glass breaker, tungsten carbide ball.
